Ruth Franklin is a book critic, who has contributed to The New Yorker, Harper's, The New York Times Book Review, and The New York Review of Books. Along with Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life, she is also the author of A Thousand Darknesses: Lies and Truth in Holocaust Fiction published by Oxford University Press in 2011.
